I shredded a tire on my car over the weekend (which has a smaller and sometimes difficult to find in stock tire size.) Nathan had a full set available to sell me but noted that the other three still had a fair amount of tread on them. When he realized he didn't carry that brand of tire, he directed me to another establishment that he thought would (and they did.)

I recommend avoiding this place and going literally anywhere else in the area.

I'm in a tight place with money right now and I really, really appreciate his honesty and desire to help over trying to sell me a full new set if I didn't need them yet. When I do need to replace a set, I definitely plan to return and give Nathan my business.

I got to the shop the next morning and the assistant manager from Friday afternoon was back in. He told me that they would have to do the same diagnostic test again. They were not able to get the test done right away so I left and he said he would call me with the results. It turns out that the results came back the same as before, but this time when the assistant manager went over the allowed threshold for performance of the alternator they were completely different numbers than the manager had told me the day before. So he was either incompetent or just negligent. Either way they did not have time to replace my alternator that day, but I had to travel back home to get to work and I expressed my concern about the performance so far to the assistant manager and he told me not to worry that they would be able to get to my car first thing in the morning and it would be done early so that I could get back home and back to work. I arrived at the shop at the time he told me that it would be done and it had not even been moved from the previous day. The assistant manager then denied ever telling me that he would make it a priority and told me that I was the 3rd car that would be worked on that day. After a long wait the car was finally done and I was on my way back home.

The prices online DO NOT reflect labor charges. i.e. The 179.99 fluid exchange doesn't cost 179.99. The actual cost is 179.99 plus 60.00 labor. The 19.99 oil change has a labor charge as well making it more than 19.99.

Fast forward not even a week and my check battery light was coming on again. I decided to take it to the dealership this time in order to assure the quality of work and compatibility. They told me that the alternator was not compatible with my car and that the only sure way to fix it was to replace the alternator. So after doing this I called pep boys in Auburn and got the assurance that I would be able to return the part for a refund. Being that I am not currently living in Auburn I made a special trip down, because I was told that I would need to return it to that location. Upon getting there he told me that I could have returned it at a any location and that he would not be able to return it because he did not have the authority and I would have to wait for the same assist manager who I had dealt with before. I decided (against my better judgement) to leave the part at the store and take a receipt saying that i had dropped it off and was entitled to a reimbursement. I was told that i would be reviewing a call from the assistant manger to get my card info so that they could refund the money. Fast forward 3 MONTHS and after numerous calls and a better business bureau complaint I finally get the reimbursement.

We were in Auburn for homecoming. As we were leaving for Tennessee on Sunday, we discovered a nail in one of our tires. The mechanics at Pep Boys gave fast service. We're back on the road. Thanks again!

I have never received such poor customer service. I ended up having to stop here while having battery trouble when arriving in Auburn on Friday afternoon. I knew that I probably needed to have my fan belt replaced, because I had just gotten a new battery recently. I was also told that I should have my alternator checked out, because that could also be causing the problem. I went to pick up my car the next afternoon. While there the manager went over the diagnostic results with me. He told me that my alternator was testing within the limit of acceptance. I took his word for it and drove it back to my friends apartment. Once I got home my battery light came on again. I then turned the car off and then tried to turn it back on and it would not turn over. I had to call a tow truck and get the car towed back to the shop in order to see what was going on. They ended up being closed and I had to return the next morning.

Service here is insane. Recently I took an online appointment and preferably mentioned I would like to have break inspection. But just to make sure I called up just before I was leaving but they told me to come next day anytime. Then I go next day, they say come after two hours. I would highly recommend not to go to this place.
