We had an enormous amount of anxiety before ultimately choosing to rent from Alice Henderson Realty because of the very poor online reviews. However, we have had nothing but a great experience with the company. They went above and beyond by sending us pictures of the property when we were unable to see it in person before signing the lease.
I feel like Alice Henderson has very poor management skills and has too many rentals to deliver quality customer service-for both the property owners and the tenants they serve.
Me and my boyfriend have rented with AHR for a little over a year and a half and have had absolutely NO issues. I'm not sure if these other reviewers just did not read the fine print or what but we have followed the rules and in return been left alone, had maintenance done in a timely manner, and everyone is always very nice when we go to the office or call. With maintenance for example, we have pets and those pets try to run out the door occasionally and so we've requested we are called before maintenance comes out, they ALWAYS have! I have no complaints and I'm not expecting to have any when move out day comes and for now I am very pleased with Aubrey and Alice who have helped us tremendously.
As a property owner looking for a company to manage your rental home(s), take my piece of advice-we did not have a good experience with Alice Henderson Realty. They would send their maintenance guys out to repair minor things that would cost hundreds of dollars without our approval. There was no communication between their office and us (the property owners). We would see where our tenants just "didn't pay their rent" on our monthly statement via email. They got 10% of our tenant's monthly
My husband and I rented an excellent property with Alice Henderson for almost four years. During our time there, our interactions with the office were polite, respectful, and prompt.
They keep showing my apartment at the most inconvenient times. Our lease stipulates that they will not come into our house during non business hours but they keep coming in regardless. I would recommend staying away from this realty company, because they obviously cannot manage their customers whatsoever.
The property needed minimal repairs over the four years. However, when repairs were needed, the maintenance staff was always prompt, efficient, and respectful of our time and possessions. The lawn maintenance was reliable and appropriate.
The only reasons I gave them 4/5 instead of 5/5 was because I never got my security deposit back nor was I told why. Also, they tend to be a bit disorganized in communication. It took a few months to officially get removed from their email lists, and they billed me for rent even after my lease expired. Both problems were easily fixed, but simply demonstrated a minor lack of organization and coordination within the office.
I had a wonderful experience with Ashley and the entire Alice Henderson team. I suspect that these poor reviews are from bad tenants or something, because I thought AH Realty was responsive, kind, and understanding and they did everything in their power to accommodate my needs. When I moved into the unit there were a few issues with cleanliness and things not working, and AH had professional cleaners and repair professionals out at the house within 24 hours to rectify everything. They also were very patient with me when I was looking for a place to live, and took the time to show us a TON of different units in different price ranges. Ashley is awesome, ask for her!
Overall, I had a positive experience with Alice Henderson and encourage people to overlook the more irrational and emotional reviews and give Alice Henderson a chance.
rent to manage the property which was $125/mo and basically did nothing to earn that money. I basically was managing the property myself. After our contract ended with them we decided to go with another company in town we felt could better manage our properties.
EDIT: They called me within 24 hours of posting this review to kindly explain that (per the timeline listed in my lease) my deposit return was in the final stages of processing. They were both professional and very kind and caring in my conversation with them - they even took the time to ask me about my move and my new home. They've always been easy to communicate with but this final connection was evidence that they're willing to go the extra mile to make the experience pleasant for all involved.
