But I digress, our items were scheduled to be delivered at 1pm after closing at noon. I get it, the weather was rain and cold. But that’s not an excuse to be two hours late. The vehicle showed up at 3pm. Upon arriving I tried to show the movers where to put stuff, at that point they said “what washer and dryer?”
We had used Two Men and A Truck in Auburn previously and had very good service. That was not the case this time. Our possessions were carelessly put on the truck resulting in our mattress, and my wedding dress box getting very wet. They said it was caused by a very small refrigerator we had used to keep cold water in, but it was a frost free refrigerator. We have concluded that it may have been turned on its side and the mattress and my wedding dress box, clearly marked wedding dress were placed beside it with nothing for protection. My dining room table has a large scratch on it.
I will undoubtely NOT recommend them. For the money I dropped on this movie, I expected far better.
They loaded the wrong stuff..... two hours late. They ended up returning and bringing it. Well, this morning we found they scratched up the washer/dryer, our dining room table, and our walls to our new (construction) home.
When they delivered our possessions, they brought in boxes clearly marked fragile with heavy boxes marked as books on top of them. The boxes underneath were clearly getting crushed. Unless I stood right at the entrance of the hallway, they just put boxes anywhere they wanted to, although we had told them which boxes went in which room and the boxes were clearly marked according to the rooms.
We took the insurance for damage, but when I contacted the company after the move, I basically got an "I'm sorry about that and nothing else.
They haphazardly stacked boxes in the outside storage room, and when I checked it after they left a whole stack started to fall on me. I managed to brace them while moving them around, or I could have been badly hurt.
We hired Two Men & a Truck to pack and move my mom who was downsizing her home. A consultant came to her house, walked through and gave us estimates- with and without packing her things. We thought the price was reasonable and scheduled the service. We were told how many people would be scheduled to pack on the first day and the number who would be there for the actual move on day two. All sounded good. Until the packers came- they were short on the number of people and they did not bring enough packing materials. The first day they did not get everything packed so they continued to pack on day two for part of the day. About 75 % of the belongings were moved to the new house on day two. Then the real fun started… we were asked to pay almost $2000 over our estimate. I understand estimates are just that but to miss by that much is unacceptable especially when the job was not completed.
I’ve used multiple moving companies, and Two Men & A Truck has definitely been the worst.
I have used two men and a truck at least three times in the last five years. The staff are helpful and friendly and the movers have been quick and careful.
Very Professional and organized team!! Amanda in the office had everything coordinated and quoted the price for moving my daughter into her dorm. Thank you Randall & Shannon for making my day such an easy and pleasant experience. They received all the furniture I had shipped to them, put it together like pros and made our move in a breeze. Such an awesome team. I really enjoyed the follow up email tips that were sent to us prior to our move. Thank you!!
Before this move, I would have recommended this company. Now, not only can I not recommend, we would NEVER use them again. I would give them a negative star if that were possible.
My husband who has been sick for awhile, had to supervise the loading since I was working, and he told me they were just in a hurry to get through. They refused to bring our plants, even though I had told the man who came to give us the estimate that the plants would need to be moved in the truck since they are large. The plants meant a great deal to me since they had belonged to my father. The young man had said that wouldn't be a problem.

Our move was from a home in Montgomery to a home in Auburn with a week of storage in between. I was told my items would be in a movable storage unit and stored.
We had to go back and forth with the management of this Two Men & a Truck location and ended up splitting the additional costs. They did offer to finish the job at an additional cost- no thank you. I will be much more careful when vetting movers in the future.
At the end papers were shoved at me to be signed hurriedly, with very vague explanation.
