I am buying my first home. I came in to purchase home insurance. I was told I needed to purchase two sets of insurance in order to be a customer, either life insurance or auto insurance. I said auto insurance would work, as I already had life insurance. I was told I did not qualify because I had not had auto insurance for an entire year before. My only option was to add life insurance policy, which I already had. No flexibility in this absurd policy (obviously created to make more money) was offered or hinted at. I was told all insurance companies have the same policy. l proceeded to leave and pulled the side of the parking lot. I called the 1-800 number for another insurance company. I got exactly what I needed for less than what I expected in 15 minutes!
