If you have strep, the flu, a cold, or an easily identifiable infection - by all means come here for a prescription. Never in my life have I had such a terrible experience with a clinic otherwise. As a graduate student, we are given insurance through the University and told we must go to the med clinic if they are open or insurance will not cover it. It is worth it to spend the extra money and go to urgent care for an actual diagnosis. I went to the med clinic 2 weeks ago with UTI symptoms, and was told that I did not have a UTI. The nurse practitioner refused to prescribe medication until I was tested for an STD. I have been sexually abused in the past, and this caused much unnecessary stress and anxiety/depression while I was in the process of defending my thesis. I went to urgent care this morning and was diagnosed with a full blown UTI. They said they have never heard of a doctor that was so ignorant and I was lucky it didn't do more damage after having one for two weeks. I will be reporting her and recommend that you avoid seeing Kate Chandler Lynch at all costs if you want a diagnosis from a competent person. The staff and nurses are very nice, but unfortunately coming here when you are sick is not the way to get better.
The receptionists are rude af. I was trying to schedule an appointment and I said "I am free any time after....." and she cut me off saying "I don't need an 'any time' i need a specific time." Like bihhhhh, I was getting to it before you cut me off. This is my first experience at the Med Clinic and I know I will NEVER come to this sh!ty place. Bye.
I, along with several other faculty members I know, use AUMC as my primary care provider. Unlike other providers I've seen in town, it is easy to get an appointment and the wait is never long. I always see Skylar Cope and love the personalized care I receive from her. I've never felt like a number in this practice. Skylar spends as much time as needed with me and makes sure all of my needs are addressed. I think the staff are generally nicer here because they are used to dealing with students. This clinic is open to the community though so anyone can come here.
The wait time was short, the clinic was clean, the nurse was sweet and the doctor was caring and attentive and genuinely concerned about me. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because the miserable lady at the checkout desk was so rude that it pissed me off enough to write this crappy review. I walked up to the check out desk and said hello, handed over my paper and without looking up at me, condescendingly said “sign the bottom”... I complied (politely) and gave her payment for the services rendered. When I asked where I should schedule my referral the doctor recommended - she glared at me and (with annoyance) said that there is no information about a referral on my check-out sheet so she wouldn’t help me. Instead of offering to look into it to make sure something wasn’t missed, or even enlightening me on the normal scheduling process for doctor recommended referrals, she literally just sat there staring blankly at me through the glass screen. She was rude, condescending, unhelpful, had an attitude and quite frankly I was disappointed Auburn would allow someone that miserable to be the last face clients/patients see before leaving the clinic. Terrible impression.
