I was recently very sick and started running a high fever late in the day so I went to Auburn Urgent Care on S College since I knew they were open late and I normally go to Auburn Medical Clinic. The triage nurse seemed miserable and halfway did her job. She took my temperature, took blood, and gave me a Flu Test. Once the doctor came in, he was honestly in the room for 1 minute. He asked me no questions or checked any of my vitals. He told me the flu test was negative and sent me home with a z-pack. I informed them of my chest pain and achy muscles, but it was ignored. The next few days I felt worse so I went home to my PCP and it turned out that I DID have the flu and it had turned into pneumonia. I DO NOT suggest this clinic and I will never return!
this urgent care probably has been the worst experience I've ever had with a professional practice of any type. the nurse was unfriendly, the desk secretary was no help, and I had an appointment at 11:00 A.M. and was not taken back until 12:40 P.M. the lobby is also filled with a terrible smell, almost like an animal shelter. I will never use this establishment again no matter what the circumstance. and to save yourself some time and aggravation I would suggest you do the same!
DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. I went in with a swollen/sore throat with pus pockets. When I got called back after about an hour and a half the nurse took blood and gave me a strep test . When i finally saw the doctor after about another 30 minutes he simply walked in, looked in my throat and said " yep, looks like strep. I'll prescribe you something " WITHOUT ever telling me any of my test results and then walked out before I could even respond. The medicine did not help whatsoever, so I decided to see a real doctor the next day because I was in so much pain. They took blood once again and came back saying I have mono... MONO. So basically the urgent care didn't even check my test results and told me I had strep just from looking at my throat with a scope. If I hadn't gone to another doctor I would've never known I had mono. Pretty ridiculous.
I hate taking meds so I was avoiding going to the doc but I've been sick for a little over a week so I just sucked it up and went. Receptionist was nice but nurse acted like she was inconvenienced by patients being there and seemed super bored. Doctor saw me very quickly walked in and said "your strep test was negative, I'll send antibiotics to your pharmacy, you're welcome" uhhhhhhh ok??? thanks for the diagnosis doc
I have been to this location a few times in the past 2 years, only when absolutely necessary. 2 times without insurance while waiting on open enrollment and recently with insurance. During the visits that were paid for out of pocket, I was given sub-par treatment by the doctor. He would not run any tests to determine specific illness and told me that regardless of what my illness was even if he did run tests his treatment would be the same. Almost a year later, the next visit with insurance and similar illness(respiratory infection symptoms) I was given 3 x-rays of my lungs, a steroid shot, a breathing treatment, a steroid pack, antibiotics, an inhaler and after ASKING for something for the cough, was given some night time cough medicine. Now apparently this cough medicine comes laden with heroin or something of that nature because they only prescribe it in small amounts and will absolutely under no circumstance provide you with any more even if your symptoms are still present. A week later I called back to ask for more night time cough medicine along with the daytime cough medicine that I was not prescribed. I was asked to leave a message and received a call at almost 8pm that evening(my pharmacy closes at 8pm) with a message stating that they would return the call in the morning. At 11am I called back and requested the cough medicine, after speaking with the doctor I received a return call stating that they would send a prescription for day time cough medicine but told me to use Nyquil for any sleep issues I had. I responded with "that will be fine but I will take my business elsewhere in the future" I understand that the night time cough medicine maybe a "controlled" substance but I did not stop by the 7-11 expecting to grab a bottle, I was diagnosed with a respiratory issue by the same facility that declined to refill the prescription AND 2 hours later I went to my pharmacy to pick up the daytime cough medicine and they hadn't heard a peep from anyone about any cough medicine. I do not appreciate being treated like I am begging a dealer for a fix, I paid my co-pay, had a legitimate medical concern and the south college Urgent Care apparently determines whether or not a patient is suffering enough to need medicine, what kind, and how much. I will never give another dime or second of my time to these people, as there is another urgent care location within half a mile of this one and perhaps they will care a little more about treating my symptoms and less about my "out of control drug problem" they have enabled me to form by visiting their office 3 times in the past 2 years. If I could rate them lower than 1 star I most definitely would.
