Went into the store today with plenty of gently used or never worn clothing at all and most of my stuff was turned away. I had one dress that still had the tags on it that was refused, I asked why it was not purchased and the girl said "We aren't buying that style anymore" the other dress 2 dresses I brought in were the same style and they were purchased. The same girl just told another customer that they were currently buying back all styles and all seasons of clothes for girls and to bring anything in and they could buy it. The girl seemed to get an attitude when I asked what was wrong with it and why they couldn't buy it. I brought in at least 5 pair of pants that are brands you claim you want according to your website and not a single pair were purchased. There was nothing wrong with any of the jeans. The entire store seemed to be a giant mess and I will not be going back. I had clothes a lot less worn than some that I saw in the store and yet they were purchased and mine was not. I will be taking all of my business to Fringe in downtown Opelika from now on.
The clothing is worn and tattered... they are not selective on the items they consign. Try Fringe or Ginger's Boutique. Both are excellent consignment shops! I won't shop here again. The items Plato's sells seem appropriate for a night out at the bar, but if you want good quality or professional clothes, check out Fringe and Ginger's.
Wanted to give me only $5 for my BRAND NEW American Eagle Jeans that still had the tags on them. Unbelievable!!! Don't waste your time in here. Go to Fringe downtown Opelika! The Owners and staff are awesome and you get better business. It's just better quality, better price, more organized, and they actually pay you something reasonable.
Want worn out Rue 21 clothes over brand new Free People. In fact, the girl working said she had never even heard of Free People. They have old, worn out Sperry's, Wallabees, and TOMS and will not take Lucky Brand shoes. Place is a joke. Junky clothes
Well,I am a frequent shopper at Plato's,and I just took at least 40 items to sell, including Red Ape jeans,Pierre Cardin button ups,Coogi jeans, even a large collection of Kenneth Cole collar button ups. All in excellent condition, many still had tags on them for they have never been worn. I was appalled to find that they only bought two off brand flannel shirts, and a pair of Levi's for 9$,and had no interest in the majority of a rather expensive collection of clothing. I am very dissapointed tbh. I gave two stars only on the strength of the very shoes on my feet came from this store last week, costing me 35$. I tried to give this store a quality selection of clothing that I honestly wouldn't have taken anywhere else, only to be turned away. I'm sorry Plato's,but after this in my time of need,I think I should take my money elsewhere when shopping for clothes. I am very dissapointed. I've spent so much money in this very store that I'm actually rather upset.
